From the start something never seemed right about the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the things that were done are outlined below. They make little sense unless defeating the virus was not the real goal. Everything does make perfect sense if the goal was to accomplish something else.
The virus apparently first appeared in China, and seemed pretty deadly, but the world was focused on the impeachment of President Trump as the virus spread. In fact when the President announced a travel ban from China, he was called a xenophobe and racist. At first the WHO and our public health agencies downplayed the seriousness of the virus and said masks were ineffective. The world’s governments said that everyone needed to help flatten the curve by staying at home, but once the curve had been flattened, the lockdowns were not lifted. The lockdowns appear to have actually caused more damage than the virus, but the panic created by the government’s actions and words have made many unwilling to end the lockdowns.
The Chinese Communist government is a dictatorship with a long history of human rights abuses, and has as its goal global domination. Weakening the United States and other Western countries with a virus would benefit China. Despite the evidence that the virus originated in Wuhan, China, perhaps from the now famous Wuhan lab, “global health officials” said to not associate the disease with China by calling it the China or Wuhan virus.
As data on the number of deaths became available, it seemed clear that the virus hit the old and unhealthy much harder than the young and healthy, and yet many nursing home residents were not properly separated from residents who tested positive. On the other hand schools closed even though the medical science showed that children were at virtually no risk of getting or transmitting the disease.
The government and news media did release a lot of data on the number of tests, cases, ICU patients, and deaths, but never with any kind of a comparison to overall ICU occupancy and deaths from previous years. The difference between tests and cases was often blurred. A person watching the major network news every night was led to believe that bodies were literally piling up, while those not watching the news could see little evidence of anything unusual.
As all of this unfolded, the news media and Democrats flipped from saying Trump was doing too much, to blaming him for not doing more to stop the virus. Meanwhile the Chinese economy reopened and the virus appeared to be under control, or was it? Were the Chinese telling the truth? There were disturbing stories about Chinese scientists who disappeared.
The drop in the number of flu cases has been hailed as a miracle, but there were also disturbing stories of hospitals reporting non-COVID-19 cases as COVID-19 cases in order to get a larger payment from Medicare. Perhaps some flu cases were misclassified as COVID-19 cases.
If someone gets the virus they apparently have a 98 or 99% of survival unless they have an underlying health condition. The vaccines appear to be miraculous, and even though they have not been in use long enough to determine if they will have unexpected side effects, they appear to be over 90% effective in preventing the disease. Since there is a very low risk of dying from the disease even without a vaccine, healthy vaccinated people are probably more likely to die by getting hit by a meteorite than they are to die of COVID-19. Millions have been vaccinated and the number of cases is dropping rapidly. Events like the Super Bowl did not result in increased infections. Even so the government still wants everyone to wear masks, and to get tested before flying even after getting the vaccine. Many people still think lockdowns should continue.
A recent article in the New York Times said that hospitals in Las Angles were overwhelmed. Another article I read elsewhere said that illegal immigrants with COVID-19 have been flooding across the US Mexico border. A quick check of the map reveals that Los Angles is not far from the border. Unfortunately, the Times does not appear to have checked to see if there is a connection.
Recently I got the first dose of the vaccine at a Super Site staffed by a huge number of National Guard troops. I live in Houston, the home of the largest medical center complex in the country. The city has literally hundreds of hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, and thousands and thousands of the best health care workers in the world. How does it make any sense to develop an entirely new way to distribute and administer the vaccine when the means of distributing drugs has existed here for many, many years? This is not some third world city (yet). This is not a criticism of the National Guard. They are fine young people, and are doing a good job. Perhaps the National Guard had to be deployed to reinforce the narrative that the threat from the virus is huge.
We booked a trip to Africa long ago for May 2021. After reading about all of the horrible diseases still common in Africa, this virus is the least of our worries, and yet we will have to be tested and retested for COVID-19 in order to fly. I can see a “Far Side” cartoon with the airport screener saying, “He can go, his COVID-19 is negative; he’s just got malaria, TB, polio, HIV, yellow fever, and typhoid. No reason to panic.”
None of these things make any sense if the goal has been to stop the virus. Contagious diseases have been effectively contained by isolating and treating those with symptoms, and by protecting those at highest risk. Never before have the healthy been isolated.
The only way to make sense out of all these things is to conclude that the pandemic was never a pandemic. The virus was actually used to fundamentally change the United States of America by panicking the public into accepting much more government control. Early in the term of President Trump, some on the left said that Trump could be defeated only if the economy collapsed. With the help of the media and many in government, COVID-19 panicked the country. Various governments shut down as much of the economy as they could, Trump was defeated, and chaos reigned. We are living in a panicdemic, a panicdemic on a grand scale. The Great Panicdemic achieved its initial goal, the removal of President Trump, and is now being used to further empower government.
However, there is cause for hope. As Thomas Paine points out, panics have a way of exposing things which were hidden:
“Panics, in some cases, have their uses; they produce as much good as hurt. Their duration is always short; the mind soon grows through them and acquires a firmer habit than before. But their peculiar advantage is, that they are the touchstone of sincerity and hypocrisy, and bring things and men to light, which might have lain forever undiscovered.” – Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, December 23, 1776 (https://www.revolutionary-war-and-beyond.com/thomas-paine-quotes-2.html)
Mr. Paine probably never anticipated a panic that would last as long as this one, but his conclusion stands. So do not despair. You have been lied to and manipulated by those who crave power. Wake up and stop panicking. A great rebirth of freedom is now inevitable. Creation always follows chaos.
